Not a substitute for professional care

HearMeSafe is a peer support community, not a medical or mental health service. Content shared here does not constitute clinical advice or diagnosis. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or use our Crisis page.

1Acceptance of terms

By creating an account on HearMeSafe or accessing any part of the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, you must not use HearMeSafe.

These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("the User") and HearMeSafe Ltd ("the Company", "we", "us", "our"). We reserve the right to update these terms at any time with appropriate notice as described in the Modifications section below.

2The platform

HearMeSafe is an anonymous peer support community where individuals can share experiences, connect with others navigating similar challenges, and optionally access verified mental health professionals. We provide a moderated space for authentic human connection around mental health, grief, relationships, financial wellbeing, and related topics.

HearMeSafe is not: a medical service; a psychiatric facility; a crisis service capable of providing immediate intervention; a substitute for professional mental health care; or a crisis helpline. These terms make clear what HearMeSafe is and is not, to ensure appropriate use.

3Eligibility

To use HearMeSafe, you must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher). By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If we discover that a user is under the minimum age, we will terminate their account and delete all associated data.

HearMeSafe is available to individuals worldwide, subject to applicable local laws and regulations. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the platform complies with the laws in your jurisdiction.

4Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must immediately notify us at support@hearmesafe.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts, particularly to circumvent a ban or community restriction, is prohibited and will result in all associated accounts being terminated.

Your pseudonym must not impersonate any real person, organisation, or mental health professional. Pseudonyms found to be impersonating others will be changed by our moderation team without notice.

5Content rules

You retain ownership of all content you post on HearMeSafe. By posting, you grant HearMeSafe a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

All content must comply with our Community Guidelines. Key rules include:

  • Content must be genuine — not spam, fake, or designed to mislead
  • Content must not violate another person's privacy or safety
  • Content must not constitute professional medical or legal advice
  • Content must not facilitate illegal activity
  • Content must not target or demean other members

6Prohibited conduct

The following conduct is prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:

  • Impersonating another person, mental health professional, or organisation
  • Attempting to identify, expose, or "dox" anonymous users
  • Harassment, bullying, stalking, or threatening behaviour toward any member
  • Sharing another user's private information or communications without consent
  • Soliciting money, cryptocurrency, or financial instruments from community members
  • Posting commercial advertisements, promotional content, or affiliate links

  • Sharing explicit sexual content or non-consensual intimate imagery
  • Inciting violence, terrorism, or hatred based on protected characteristics

7Intellectual property

The HearMeSafe platform, including its design, code, branding, logo, and all platform-created content, is the intellectual property of HearMeSafe Ltd, protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, copy, or create derivative works of any platform element without express written permission.

User-generated content remains the intellectual property of the user who created it, subject to the licence described in the Content Rules section above.

8Professional services disclaimer

Professionals listed on HearMeSafe have undergone credential verification, but HearMeSafe Ltd is not responsible for the clinical advice, conduct, outcomes, or quality of care provided by any individual professional. The professional-client relationship is governed by the professional's applicable legal and ethical obligations in their jurisdiction.

Consultation fees, terms, and arrangements are agreed directly between the user and the professional. HearMeSafe is not a party to any professional services agreement and makes no warranty regarding the suitability of any professional for any particular user's needs.

10Privacy

Your use of HearMeSafe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the platform, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

11Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from the Settings page. HearMeSafe may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, for prolonged inactivity, or for any conduct deemed harmful to the community.

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. All your content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 13Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HearMeSafe Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, or costs (including legal fees) arising from: your use of the platform; your violation of these Terms; your user-generated content; or your violation of any third party's rights.

14Modifications to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of HearMeSafe after the effective date constitutes acceptance. You may terminate your account if you do not accept updated Terms.

15Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of HearMeSafe will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.

We encourage you to contact us first at legal@hearmesafe.com to attempt resolution before initiating any formal legal process.
